How to be an iron lady?

If you are constantly looking pale and feeling tired despite clocking in sufficient amount of sleep, it might be because you are not consuming enough iron. Other symptoms of iron defeciency include difficulty in concentrating and a shortened attention span. It is especially important for women to consume foods that are rich in iron to replenish the amount that is lost during our monthly periods.

Foods that are rich in iron include:

  • Fortified breakfast cereals e.g. Cornflakes, Honey Stars etc
  • Baked beans
  • Red meat e.g. Beef, Pork, Lamb
  • Green leafy vegetables e.g. Watercress, Kale
  • Boiled eggs

The consumption of foods or beverages that are rich in Vitamin C helps your body to absorb iron. So plunge into a bowl of breakfast cereals with fresh fruit slices tomorrow morning for an energy boost!

Remember to say “okay”

Do you know that we should only use our middle finger, ring finger and pinkie to wash our face or apply moisturizer? That’s because our index fingers exert the most pressure and hence not very ideal for our face that needs tender loving care.

Oily yet dry skin?

Contrary to common beliefs, people with oily skin types do need to apply moisturizer after cleansing their faces too! However, I hated that ever greasy texture on my face each time I applied moisturizer. Stopped applying it and the skin on my face soon turned flaky.

I have tried many products but none of them catered to my needs. They were either too oily or unable to provide sufficient moisture for my dry and flaky skin. My personal favourite is Kiehl’s Sodium PCA Oil-Free Moisturizer! It’s lightweight formula aids in the retaining of moisture on the skin without the addition of extra oils. Hope it works for you too! :)
